Our TD Jazz series returned for three Friday night concerts with a tribute to Montrealer and jazz royalty Oscar Peterson, followed by a wonderful evening with piano virtuoso Eldar Djangerov, and the joyful vocal and saxophone stylings of Grace Kelly and her Trio.

Then, our Classical Series took place over the course of six music-filled days, with extraordinary performances from artists from home and abroad. Highlights included the Canadian debuts of the New York Philharmonic String Quartet and the Tempest Trio, with violist Marina Thibeault; Canada’s brilliant young Rolston String Quartet; master pianist André Laplante; and Israeli cellist Amit Peled, who enthralled a full house for a solo concert of music by Bach and Bloch.

Special collaborations at the Festival included bringing together four spectacular pianists for a programme of 8-handed repertoire. The brilliant concert ended with a hilarious surprise encore featuring all four gentlemen at one piano!

Watch the encore with pianists Alon Goldstein, David JalbertSteven Massicotte, and Wonny Song here.

Our final concert was a cello celebration, with no less than 12 cellists, including our Artistic Director Denis Brott, coming together to creating a gorgeous sound. The cellists were joined by stellar soprano Aline Kutan for a beautiful performance of Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No.5.
