VC Young Artist Timothy Chooi Awarded 1st Prize at Hannover’s Joseph Joachim Competition
24-year-old VC Young Artist Timothy Chooi from Canada has just minutes ago been awarded 1st prize at the 2018 Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition – in Hannover, Germany.
A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Ida Kavafian, and current post graduate student of Catherine Cho at The Juilliard School, Timothy is a former major prize winner at the Schadt and Michael Hill International Violin Competitions – and in August of this year was awarded the ‘Prix Yves Paternot’ Prize for the most outstanding young musician at this year’s Verbier Festival.
